After he sold the online hotel booking company that he founded, Marin Muyser was keen to find a similar business in which he could reinvest the proceeds.

One year later, in 2004, Mr Muyser found his target. Travel Intelligence is an online hotel review site established by leading journalists, including columnist AA Gill and travel writer Philip Marsden-Smedley.

Mr Muyser explains: “The site had been founded with a view to offering quality travel writing online. The focus was on boutique luxury hotels – a concept that was gathering pace at that time – and best-in-class hotels.”
